Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people over at The Broke and the Bookish.
I have 10 brothers and sisters.
While most of them are half-siblings, it’s really nice to have such an extensive family. When I’m not at school, I live with three of them, MJ, Harrison, and Joseph.
The first books that I remember turning me on to reading YA seriously was the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan.
One of my friends was reading The Lightning Thief on a school field trip, and the next day I was at the bookstore picking up the first book in the series.
I’m currently a student at Vanderbilt University.
Vanderbilt University is a private university in Nashville, TN. This year, I’ll be a sophomore, and I’m double majoring in Political Science and History and minoring in English. ANCHOR DOWN!
I’m planning to study abroad in Denmark during the spring semester with my roommate.
Of course, that is if I finish the application on time. I’ve always wanted to go abroad, especially to Europe, where there’s so much history. I honestly can’t wait.
I write for a fandom-centered entertainment news website.
I’ve written for The Fandom for almost a year, and I love it. It’s offered me a lot of opportunities and has helped improve my writing skills.
I’ve been a (kind of) co-host on a podcast before.
I was a “mini-host” on a podcast called From the Spirit World, an Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra podcast.
I’ve seriously been thinking about starting a new podcast!
I’ve been, for some time now, planning a podcast with two of my friends. We’ve planned our first episode and hope to record it soon. It’s honestly really nerve-racking. I’ve never hosted my own podcast before, so it’ll be a new challenge.
I cried when I went to the Kimbell Art Museum and saw their Van Gogh and Monet paintings.
The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, TX (about an hour from my hometown) has some of the best art galleries in the country. They have a few Van Gogh and Monet paintings, and they were absolutely gorgeous. As soon as I saw them, I started tearing up.
For the most part, I’ve only written fanfiction and some short poems or scenes, I’m currently working on a short story, that, I hope, I’ll be able to publish. I also really want to write a book some day.
I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder this past fall.
I had a hard time adjusting this fall when I moved to Nashville. Depression had always been an *unofficial* part of my life, but, during the fall semester, it got much worse. Finally, I visited a psychiatrist and was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder. I’m so grateful that I had the resources to treat myself before things got even worse.
